On the tee/ Newsletter Congratulations to Tom and Jane Perfect who captured the Mixed Foursomes crown on Sunday with a 27 hole total of 124, five shots clear of Katrina Ferris and Brian Walsh. John Lilly combined with Jann McDowell to win the handicap section on 104 nett from Al and Linda Edwards with 104.75.
Adrian Haynes and John Fagan picked up the prestigious Jimmy Johnson trophy on Saturday after a titanic tussle with John Rogers and Rocky Evans with the outcome only decided after 20 holes, great golf from both teams. Bob Cooper reveled in the wet conditions last Thursday to post 39pts and win by one shot from the duo of Arthur Clancy and Terry Lewis. 29pts was good enough for David Lilly to win the scratch. Cooper was ably assisted by Ray Pepper in the 2BBB as they fired 47pts for the win, Bob Ward and Terry Lewis rounded out second with 44pts while Darryn Bruce and David Lilly signed for the scratch on 33pts. Mick Locke was the premier golfer in last Saturday's A grade stableford with a well constructed 39pts that saw him win on a countback from Scott Matheson. Norm Matheson finished third (37) and the scratch went to Andy Campbell on 32pts. Club Captain Manuel Pro made a welcome return to form with a fine 40pts to take the B grade honours from Peter Ward and Peter Wray after both players returned 37pts. Paul Oxley was the scratch winner with 22pts. Tim McCrossin claimed C grade on 39pts, Roger Groves and Barry Tobin rounded out the minor placings with 38 and 36pts respectively. Paul 'rock' Rossiter signed for the scratch (17). The sheet for the Bathurst Open (30-31 October) will be out in the coming weeks, our fantastic Italian restaurant Pantano's Cuisine will have breakfast options available on the Open weekend. Friday nights members draw is $200 with tickets in the raffles on sale from 6.30pm. Happy hour is from 5.30-7pm.
